In 2000 at 5ft 4 1/2 inches she weighed 210 pounds and was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Also, because of the excess weight she had heel spurs, and experienced constant pain in her hip. After the multiple diagnoses, Shera knew she had to lose weight and get in better health. However, it wasn't easy until the death of two very close family members who died from bad health related diseases that Shera decided to make a change in her life seriously. With a commitment to become healthy, Shera started her career on the path to fitness and better health. Today Shera has lost a total of 60 pounds.

Currently, Shera is pursuing certifications for the USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, Spin/Cycling instructor, yoga/yoga sculpt and Pilates with a specialization with a chair.
